ABOUT

AIXDATA is the CSULB AI Club's annual datathon — a one-day competition where teams extract insights from real-world datasets and present their findings to a panel of judges. Open to all CSULB students with no experience required.

Whether you're running your first regression or fine-tuning a neural net, there's a track for you. Workshops, mentors, free food, and prizes all day.

FAQ

A datathon is a data science competition where teams analyze a real dataset and present insights within a fixed time window. Unlike hackathons focused on building apps, datathons emphasize analysis, modeling, and data storytelling.

On the CSULB campus in Long Beach, CA. The exact building and room will be announced closer to the event date via our socials and this site.

All currently enrolled CSULB students — any major, any year, any experience level. Beginner workshops and mentors are available throughout the day so you don't need a background in ML to compete.

Up to 4 members. Solo participants are welcome too — just check the "match me with a team" option when registering and we'll connect you with others.

No. AIXDATA is completely free to attend. Meals and snacks throughout the day are included, thanks to our sponsors.

Your laptop, charger, a valid CSULB student ID, and your best ideas. We'll handle the rest.

Datasets are revealed at the opening ceremony — everyone starts at the same time. No early access, no exceptions. Keeps it fair and keeps it exciting.
